Hi, I am new to this site, but I think that I am glad to have found it. Wonderful idea, having somewhere for Nurses to vent or find out info. Anyway I am 35 married with 2 children (6 and 1). I have been living in Florida (almost Georgia) for the last two years. Am originally from Australia. Had no idea that being able to get licenced in the US was going to be so difficult. Have not got even one thing nice to say abotu CGFNS so won't go there. I have finally received a report from them and now have to figure out how to go back to school to "fill in the gaps in my education", so to speak. Am not sure if I will even end up working as a nurse here if it continues to be so difficult, I may even end up moving back to Australia, a real shame if you ask me as I love living here and would miss it incredibly. Sorry to sound so negative but am truely suprised at the hassles with almost everyone I speak to saying that there is such a shortage of Nurses here. Ok enough of that back to info about me, we moved here for a lifestyle change and even brought the 4 cats. I was born in Hong Kong, and lived there for the first 15 years of my life (Australian Dad, Danish Mum, just to confuse you all a bit more) Not sure what else to tell you but I guess that this is a start, probably more information than you really wanted to know
. Look forward to reading news from other Nurses and any helpful hints that will help me in my Nursing quest here in the US.
