Hi there, I am doing a paper for English about neonatal nursing. I am a first year student at a community college and am currently enrolled in Liberal Studies. I hope to transfer to a university once I complete my liberal studies and get a major in nursing. I am very interested in neonatal nursing and I hope I can find out more about it and hear about some experiences from neonatal nurses. This would not only help me in writing my essay but it will also help me to figure out if neonatal nursing is what is right for me.
What traits/personalities do youlook for when hiring a neonatal nurse?
What do you like most about being a neonatal nurse?
What do you like least about being a neonatal nurse?
How would you describe neonatal nursing?
What are your duties/responsibilities when you come to work?
Are there any kinds of special training that you need to take?
What is the best way to get a job working in a neonatal nursery?
Are you often on call?
What is the typical salary of a neonatal nurse?
What advice would you give someone who is looking about neonatal nursing?
How long are your shifts?
How much education do you feel is necessary to work in a neonatal nursery?

If you want to be a neonatal nurse, seek one out in your community and talk face to face! This is a good learning experience for you and you get to make a contact with someone in the field that may help you down the road!

I am not a NICU nurse. I moved this to the NICU forum for better response. I know that not being in nursing it is dificult, at best, to know where to go and how to get there.......besides no one is going to let you near those babies.....I hope you find what you need here.
If you decide on nursing I wish you the best on your journey.
