Interview of "second career" nurse-anyone?

Published

Hi all! I need to "interview" someone for a class I'm taking and would love to interview someone who started their nursing school & career later in life (like me!) - Can anyone let me know if they are interested in doing this with me? I can email you questions that I've come up with. Thank you !!!

Specializes in primary care, pediatrics, OB/GYN, NICU.

Hi, you can email me if you like. Nursing is a 2nd career for me too. Please send me a private message (PM) or email from my profile page. It make take me a day or two to answer you due to my work schedule, but feel free.

Renae,

You are welcome to PM me or send me an email at [email protected]

I just graduated from an accelerated BSN program in December and turned 44 at the same time. I'll be starting an OR internship in March. My first degree was in journalism and before that, I worked for years in law firms.

Although school was frustrating at times, I'm happy with my decision. My husband graduated the year before me in the same program, and is an ER nurse at the same Level 1 Hospital where I will be working in the OR. In school, I just kept telling myself to keep jumping through the hoops, and keep my eye on the goal. Good luck!

Could I jump on the Bandwagon? I also have to do a RN interview and would like to interview someone who came to nursing after pursing other careers first. I can e-mail the questions I have for you. Thanks again everyone!
