Hello fellow School Nurses!
I've been asked to be on a interivew committee for our Director of Pupil Services. This position is "in charge" of the nursing department. The commmitte is made of several disiciplines within the school district. I will get a chance to ask a couple questions pertaining to the nurses. I'm looking to see what you would ask a prospective canidate.
Thanks for your help and I really appreciate this list and its members.

One of the things I would want to know(and have been asked in an interview) is "How would you deal with a parent who is difficult or confrontational?" As we all know, there are "those parents" and it takes a certain touch to work with them.
Other questions would be:
"How do you deal with students who come to the clinic excessively for vague, non-quantitive complaints?"
"What is your experience working with children who have diabetes? seizures? asthma?"
"How do you envision your practice within the school system?"
Thanks for the feedback!!! These are excellent suggestions....but just to be clear.... This a non nursing position...it is for Director of Pupil Services...he/she is in charge of mostly special education students/staff (a step below the Superintendant). The nurses fall under his umbrella of supervison among other disicplines (PT/OT/Special education teachers, paraprofessionals) in the school system.
Thanks!!
