Work in the US ASAP

  1. Assuming that i passed my NCLEX and TOEFL/IELTS, could I find a hospital and apply to work for them right away or do i have to work here in the Philippines for at least 2 years to have some experience working as a licensed nurse? By the way I do not have an imigrant or working visa just tourist visa.

this would be best in the international forum, I would read some of the threads on there as this comes up a lot.

Sorry, but there is no work as soon as possible for any foreign nurse in the US. You must go thru the appropriate steps of taking and passing the NCLEX exam, passing the English exams, and have a Visa Screeb Certificate. There is also a retrogression going into effect shortley that will also involve you.

Take the time to do things correctly and properly. And if I remember correctly, you sat for the NLE exam in June, 2006; not one state has issued an ATT to anyone that took that exam, as the results cannot be verified...............and there is no license issued.

Fastest route for you would be to focus on retesting, or you are also going to have issues trying to find an employer. E-mails have already gone out to major hospital chains and organizations by the Dean of the University of the Philippines School of Nursing.............she also wants you to have at least two years of experience, and you need to retest for that as well.

There are no shortcuts............and to try to find them, will only cause you major issue later on, and even be cause for getting deported. Take the time to do things correctly.
