hi to all,

I need some help here, regarding to my situation. Here it goes.... I am a nursing graduate in the philippines for over 8 years now. Is it possible for me to take the NCLEX without taking the local board examination in the philippines. And if ever, can i apply abroad without any experiences, just asking.. I'm in taiwan right now and i'm already a citizen. Taiwan is not an english speaking country that makes it hard for me to apply as a volunteer in the hospital. Any suggestions and opinions is appreciated. Thanks and God Bless!

If I were you, I'd contact the Board of Nursing in whatever US state you are hoping to license in. They can guide you as to whether the program you graduated from is acceptable for licensure, etc.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Read the primer at the top of this forum title Primer to work in the US also read a few threads as I believe it is possible to sit NCLEX without having done your local boards in the Phillipines (think it will actually work to your benefit) You do need to apply to the BON and follow procedures before being able to sit the exam. Good luck

Definitely not necessary to do this. The Philippines requires the BSN, which is a four year degree. And is compatible with the curriculum of the US.

You do not need local boards to be able to be licensed in the US, only a completed set of transcripts. You will need to decide where you wish to work, and then apply to that state for licensure. soem states do require a credentials evaluation that is done by CGFNS. You will also need to take the pass the series of English exams, you may find the IELTS series easier for you to complete. Then you will also need a Visa Screen Certificate.

That information can be found in the Primer at the top of the Forum, as Anna already mentioned.

thanks for the infos guys...it really helps. keep it up !
