I was given a job offer by the Regina Qu'Apelle Health Region last January 2009. I am currently waiting for my visa approval and SRNA eligibility.. I am done with my medical examination for the Canadian embassy (so far so good) so there's no problem their.. My problem is with my SRNA eligibility.. I am already anxious with my SRNA eligibility.. I passed all of my requirements last February, 2009.. They replied thru e-mail stating that they have received my application and that they will give a confirmation e-mail stating all of the requirements that they have received.. but until now I haven't received any e-mail from them.. I am anxious because I am expecting my visa to be granted next month and the only thing that I would have to complete is my SRNA eligibility before I get deployed.. Another cause of my anxiety is that they haven't mailed my employer for the employer's verification.. To think that it's almost 3 months since I have passed my application to them.. So many things are going through my mind at the moment.. "Did I do anything wrong with the filling-up?" "Are my credentials sufficient?" "Did I write the correct address for my employer?" "Did they receive the credentials coming from my school?" "Is there's still hope that I can get my elibility?" I tried doing correspondence with them through e-mail but they do not reply to any of it. I know that they are processing many applications at the moment.. but I am really anxious already to the point of being paranoid.. :sniff: I want to call them but it will too expensive since I am from the Philippines.. and besides I wouldn't know if they would answer my queries directly..

Gambutrol, you should call them. Thats the only way to find out. Ask them how much longer you have to wait or the status of your assessment. You have to spend a couple of hundreds of pesos but at least you'll get an update about your application. I have not experience calling SRNA but I have done calling CNO in Ontario. There are information agents who answered my inquiries (not out source).

Its better to follow them up than to over stress your self. Just a piece of advise.

Honestly I don't think 2 and a half months approx is that great a time on waiting especially if they have had a lot of applications. If you are looking at emailing them for the ninth time then really would be better calling them (I know you said it is expensive) or authorising someone in Canada to act on your behalf

due to the increased number of ien applicants that srna are processing it will take some time for them to give you a real-time update of your eligibility... i suggest you keep your patience and it will come up just when you don't expect it... i don't think the canadian embassy will issue the visa without the srna eligibility, they may have the visa for you but they wont release it without having that eligibility, as that is one of their primary requirements..

Moved to the International Forum as it relates to immigration issues and not Canadian nursing issues. The average Canadian nurse in Saskatchewan won't have any idea what you're talking about.

I didn't wrote ninth time.. it's nth time.. I am just anxious.. I just want somebody to share their experience regarding the eligibility.. if they had to wait this span of time as well.. because some people have experienced shorter processing time.. I will call them next month if my employer doesn't receive the employer's verification yet.

several of sk-bound nurses have been issued TWP without the elibility

@ janfrn

That's odd, because it's a requirement for the TWP (not for PR though)

This I am surprised as a lot of employer want to know that you meet eligibility for CRNE before offering a job.

before job offer? I have my job offer already.. in Regina General Hospital.. this is signed by the representatives of the Regina Qu'Apelle Health Region.. SRNA eligibility is not a requirement for the job offer but this is a plus factor.. this is based on personal experience.. this is for nurses hired thru agencies.. but for direct employment they usually go for nurses with the eligibility already.. :)

You would have thought it would be the same regardless on agency or direct hire. You still have to pass CRNE at some stage to be employed as a RN or stay employed as a RN and if you fail 3 times then your TWP could be cancelled as you won't be able to continue to work as a nurse. (Not saying you will fail CRNE but people do fail and having spent lots of money and settling into a new country then having to leave because you can't stay would just add more expenses)
