Received Green Card for Self but Not for family

Hello All,

I am so excited to share the News. Today I recd in mail, the Green Card for myself valid for 10 years. My I-140/I-485 filed concurrently at NSC (for me and family) had a priority date of Apr-3, 2006. My I-140 was approved in Dec-2006, and my I-485/Green Card recd today.

The only thing that bothers me now is that the USCIS on-line status for my spouse has not changed, and my spouse's processing still shows under process/pending. Our papers were filed together. Is this anything of concern? or is it that available Visas have exhausted?

Pls pls respond if anybody has any insights to this situation.

Thanks, and God Bless.

Congratulations and thanks for sharing this good news with us. Hopefully your family will get a GC pretty soon as well. As to track the movement of issuance of GC, I would like to ask you some questions.

What is your country of Birth?

Were you on visit visa in USA when u filed your I-140?

I think Suzanne4 will soon help you out with your questions as she helps everyone.

your reply will be appriciated.

Thanks in advance and again conratulations.

This is actually quite common. Many times have seen delays of the initial EAD for several weeks to even a month of two longer. And sometimes it is the non-nurse spouse that recieves things first.

There is no rhyme or reason for it, just causes nerves to fly. If your family members were included with your original petitions, then there should be not any issue with them recieving the visas now as well. When they reserved them for you, they were reserved for them as well.

No reason to be concerned.

We are from India and I was on H4 when the petition was filed. I studied and completed my BSN in US.

My spouse is still awaiting news on his GC. No change in status, still shows 'Under process'

Thanks, Art

I have the same issue as yours. I got mine on 7/17/07, but my spouse still has not received his. Please keep up updated. I will do so too.

Sorry but there is something I don't understand. Your priority date was April 2006 mine is Nov 2005, Your I140 was approved in Dec 2006 mine in June 2006.

And you have your GC which is great for you ? But is there something I missed about PD ??? So why I don't have mine, I'm also on a H4 visa.

Thank you.

Did your lawyer file AOS during July/Aug? Things may process differently if with different centers

Hi,

No he did not file AOS because I was away in France from the 17th of July until the 19th of September so I was not physically present in the US. We continue with the CP. My life is on hold since 2 years like many others....

unfortunately it is now a waiting game and currently visas for 2002 are being processed. Doubt there will be another AOS window opening for a long time after the fiasco of July/August. All you can do is keep an eye on the bulletin and see what happens
