not sure for canada but for the US you will be short on hours unless you have general training done a few years ago. You need to have hours in maternity, general adult, mental health and paeds and it has to be a recognised course with both practical and theory hours. It may be best to get CES report from CGFNS and see if you need to make hours up. Also depends where in the US you want to work as the states can vary on their requirements on hours needed.

Good luck

CA is a route not to take as they won't issue you with a license until you have a SSN and there are a couple more states that will be the same, a lot depends on where you want to live. CES is a credential evaluation done by CGFNS who will look at your transcripts and say what hours you are short on if any.
