New Grad Work Abroad

  1. Hello everyone,

In about a year I will (hopefully) have passed my NCLEX and will be an RN. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about new grad positions in other countries such as New Zealand, Australia, Europe, Spain, pretty much anywhere. I don't know much about this but my sister is encouraging me to move since I love being abroad so much. Does anyone know about the pay difference, if I can even be a new grad in another country, or if I should just wait and get a little experience first and then make my way to a different country. Please let me know if anyone knows anything about this topic. Thank you so much!

You'd need to look at the licensing/educational requirements of each country/region that you might be interested in working in. And I suppose you'd need to be able to work and live in that country, legally. It's really not as simple as "the difference in pay" or getting "a little experience". How many European languages are you fluent in?
There are American hospitals overseas, but those are near impossible to get into unless you or your spouse are active duty. I looked into living in Europe many years ago and sadly decided it was an impossibility. I do like to travel there for vacation, though.

A lot of countries now require some experience either as x amount of hours or months. As mentioned you need to decide which country then look at requirements.
