nclex will expire soon

  1. I'm lenzen

I have concern about my Nclex, I passed nclex california last August 2008, by 2 years and 2 months it will expired.I currently review for IELTS exam so I can get a working visa by next year. last week I passed the interview for Dialysis nurse staff here in philppines but the contract was 2 years. I'm confuse right now because my friend told me that the working visa, it can process in 8 months only.
I don't know if I will sign the contract or just waiting for the working visa?
    Thank you for your concern!!!!

Get and ITIN # from the IRS, I believe it's free of charge.

And use that instead of Social Security Number.

http://www.irs.gov/individuals/artic...7,00.html#what IRS = Internal Revenue Services. IRS is dreaded by everyone since they can put you in jail if you fail to pay your taxes.

An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) is a tax processing number issued by the Internal Revenue Service. It is a nine-digit number that always begins with the number 9 and has a 7 or 8 in the fourth digit, example 9XX-7X-XXXX.
IRS issues ITINs to individuals who are required to have a U.S. taxpayer identification number but who do not have, and are not eligible to obtain a Social Security Number (SSN) from the Social Security Administration (SSA).
ITINs are issued regardless of immigration status because both resident and nonresident aliens may have U.S. tax return and payment responsibilities under the Internal Revenue Code.
Individuals must have a filing requirement and file a valid federal income tax return to receive an ITIN, unless they meet an exception.

What is an ITIN used for?
ITINs are for federal tax reporting only, and are not intended to serve any other purpose. An ITIN does not authorize work in the U.S. or provide eligibility for Social Security benefits or the Earned Income Tax Credit. ITINs are not valid identification outside the tax system.
IRS issues ITINs to help individuals comply with the U.S. tax laws, and to provide a means to efficiently process and account for tax returns and payments for those not eligible for Social Security Numbers.

Since this number is only used for the IRS a BIG no, for use for the board of nursing.

NCLEX is an exam and doesn't "expire." If you passed, then you are a licensed nurse somewhere (in California?). You only need to continue to renew your license before it expires and the Board of Nursing should send that information to you, or you can find it on the website. With the employment shortage in the US right now, if you've been offered a position in the Phillipines--take it! US nurses with years of experience are having trouble finding jobs right now. Don't wait on the chance of a work visa and try to find a job here. If you have an offer there, take it and learn everything you can.

Unfortunately Ca will destroy a file if they do not get a SSN within 3 years this means NCLEX results are destroyed
