Welcome to allnurses! :balloons:

I've moved your post to the International Nursing forum, which is where we try to keep all questions and discussions about immigration and practicing in another country. There is a lot of useful information already posted on this forum about getting licensed in the US -- please have a look at some of the existing threads. Here are links to a few existing threads of particular interest, to get you started:

Again, welcome, and best wishes!

Welcome

New York do their own thing with CGFNS called CVS and will not look at your application until that is complete. Looking at over 8 months for the process. Also if this is not the state you plan on living in may want to rethink as you will need to meet state BON requirements to which ever state you want to live for foreign trained nurse and they may require CES which is more money. I would also not recommend California for initial liensure as they will not give you a license without SSN, much has already been written about them. Have you taken local boards as you may want to consider gaining experience in your own or another country as with retrogression you are currently looking at years if lucky to get a work visa

Also you are not applying for NCLEX but licensure to be a RN in the US so title of thread changed to reflect this.
