Morning all, I am getting all organised for the medicals for me, hubby and the kids and have been searching the threads for lots of immunisation info!! One question I cannot find an answer to is this.... Does my husband need to have Hep B, or just the kids???? I understand that the kids do for school etc.. and I am covered, but not sure about him. Don't want to make him suffer jabs for no reason!!

No he doesnt need it just the kids
He will be pleased!! As will the bank balance, was going to be expensive!! Does he get out of having the MMR as well then??
No sorry he has to have MMR if he doesnt have immunity. He needs to have titres done
as madwife says, he wil probably need MMR. We did as we hadnt had the disease, and were too old to have ever had a mumps vaccine!
My husband only needed MMR and Td he was dead pleased :uhoh21: he detests anything to do with needles i think i will have to drug him for the medical as they need to take blood lol

I was told we all needed hep B I was already covered but my daughter age 20 & my hubby both had it done with the GP
ive just had a new bit of information about imms this is what it says for adults...
over the age of 19 for visa requirements, not employment
Td
MMR
varicella (not available here)
hep B is required up to 19 years of age you can attend the interview having started the course of 3 injections so long as you have proof of starting.
hope this helps

O, well to late now they have had them done, I won't tell them though coz they both hate needles & were not happy they had to have them in the first place, lol. Still it wont hert them to be protected:D
i quite agree, better to be safe!
personally i dont think the chart is very clear on the website, maybe that is just my interpretation of it lol

According to info on US Embassy website Re: immuns, if born after 1956 you need MMR. My hubby was born 1954 so we're presuming then that he doesn't need MMR. I've had it and so have kids.

My hubby and the kids have had Heb B Inj. (£60 each at our GPs) He says if the kids need it he is having it too because there must be an issue with it in US.
