i took the liberty of moving your post to the international forum, my home.
to work in illinois, you will need to get a credentials evaluation done by cgfns, you no longer need to take the exam for illinois. you will need to get that done first. you will need to apply to illinois board of nursing for "licensure by examination." once accepted by them, you will be able to register for the nclex exam, but not until you have their approval.
you will also need to complete the series of english exams, either toefl, twe, and tse or the ielts series in the academic branch with the speaking section.
you will also need to apply to cgfns for a visa screen certificate, this will not be issued until you actually pass both the nclex exam as well as the english exams.
since you have been out of the field for so long, i highly recommend that you get a copy of the saunder's comprehensive review for the nclex-rn exam. i suggest that you start reading from the beginning before you even start on the questions. nursing in the us is quite different from that in other countries, this will give you a better background before even considering a review class for the nclex exam. in the us, the nurse is also responsible for assessing breath sounds, as well as heart tones, along with a complete assessment each shift. this is quite different from many other countries.
hope that this gives you a start. the book is available on amazon
if you cannot find it in a bookstore there. (www.amazon.co
) and they deliver to korea.
