CGFNS Test results...need help Please

Hello There,

I am a Nurse from the U.K living in USA, just taken the CGFNS last week.

Nobody at the exam seemed to know for sure what the pass mark is.

The study guide states a scale of 1 to 800 with 400 being a pass, while a fellow exam taker (who had previously failed) stated it was 80%.

I called CGFNS today and they stated 540 is the passing score but would not elaborate out of what!!!???

There were 271 questions in total....

Has anyone got any ideas?????:confused:

you will get a letter in the mail first giving you your numerical score from cgfns.
uh oh.

i didn't get any mail from cgfns. no id card, no roster letter. just the cg study guide sent from sweden.

now i'm worried i won't get this letter too. :(

out of 20+ emails i sent, i only got 1 reply!!! and this was after 2 months!

then you can expect the visa screen certificate in approximately four months, depending on where you are, and especially if it is being sent overseas.
hmmm. so i will expect it april 2006 at the earliest. *sigh*

nothing gets done fast with them, and especially at holdiay time, plus they have snow days in pennsylvania as well.

my problem now is that the state board of nursing is asking for a credential evaluation, and the cg certificate will do. how long does it take cgfns to send it to them?

no different from what i have been saying the past few years here. allow four months from the time that you get notifed that you have passed your exams.

Your mail is actually from the headquarters in Pennsylvania. They just do a bulk shipment to Europe, then the mail is sent on from there.

Do you have your account number? If so, you can check your account on their site.

That is why you need to allow the four months.

Yes, I got my account number via the CG Study Guide delivery receipt. Good thing the CG people here allowed me to take the exam with that number only...I was NOT able to access the online web permit for the month prior to the exam.

A lot of people were not able to access the online web permit, but they got their Roster Letters.

I did not get any letter from CGFNS.

Regarding the online website--they have not updated it for months now.

I sent my Visa Screen application with full payment last August, but it's still not reflected in the site. I have sent around 10 emails asking if they have received my Visa Screen application and payment, but no reply.

Regarding my CP status, my Secondary School diploma says "WAITING TO BE RECEIVED" even though it's supposed to be waived--I graduated more than 10 years ago. Even my photos are "RECEIVED BUT NOT REVIEWED."

With the way things are going at CGFNS...somehow I worry that things will more often go wrong than right.

I'll be calling for their Supervisor by January if they haven't updated my Status Page by then.

If you sent in August, and nothing posted as of yet? How did you sned it, by courier service? If so, find out when exactly it was delivered and who signed for it.

Next, I would not wait any longer, but would go ahead and phone them now. I do not rely on sending e-mails, phone calls work, and ask to speak to a supervisor. Way too long to be waiting for any updates.

I sent it via EMS... I don't know what the acronym means, but it's 1/2 the price of FedEx, and I've used it over the years with no problems.

There is one snag though--they only gave me a slip of paper with a number on it...and I think they'll only have the delivery date on file.

I'll know on Monday.

Everything should have been updated already. They do not wait for the exam results, as there are two different departments.

EMS is the express mail service at your post office, it is only helpful if you have a tracking number that they can search. If not, stick to a courier service where you get docuemented proof. That is essentially just faster snail mail.

Courier service only to others that are reading. It only takes this one time to hit and snag, and it can cost you months of waiting. Not worth it in my view, I don't think yours either.:)

It took EMS 4 weeks to deliver my package to the US. Not worth using as a courier service. You can't even track the package. :o

It took EMS around 4 weeks to deliver my package to the US. Not very good to use them as a courier. You can't even track the package! :o

Hello There,

I did not receive anything eithere from the CGFNS, only the study guide. I contacted them and they said they had sent me the info pack and id card twice. I never received anything. I have said this before, but they are very unhelpful and never answer emails. Good Luck to all those who took the exam on the 9th of November. Hopefully we will see the results in the next two weeks on the CGFNS web site.

ems has "world-wide postal courier network" printed on the receipt...coupled with my previous experience that documents were received within 1 week of mailing, i guess i just thought they were as reliable as fedex, but cheaper.

i called up the philippine post office, and they told me they sub-contracted my documents to another company. when i called up the "company" the guy told me that according to his computer, my documents were not delivered.

he said he'll try to ask their people in the us if they delivered the documents.

now i learn i have a problem. the bank draft for the visa screen was in that shipment.

question is, can i ask the bank (banco de oro) to trace where the money ended up? can they re-issue the check if it got lost? i have a photocopy of the check.

what other options do i have?

yep, same thing here.

must be a big racket, collecting all those mailing fees and sending stuff to limbo. there had been too many instances to blame things to accidents.

i didn't receive the 2 id cards and 1 roster letter. that's 3 pieces of lost mail for me...and i've talked with around 5 other people in the same boat, that's 18 pieces of "lost" mail!

i think cgfns has to use another company to mail their stuff.

my problem with ems was compounded by the inefficiency of cgfns. if they had only answered my emails within "10 to 15 business days" as they promised then i could have caught this problem sooner.

man, i get the feeling i gotta look for another $325 for the visa screen fee.

Their records showed documents delivered end of September. Got the time and the name of the person who got them.

I guess I'll be calling CGFNS up later tonight.
