Advice from Canadian Nurses?

Hi everyone,

I'm an OR nurse looking to immigrate to Canada in the next year or two. I'll be moving under the Express Entry visa. Researching the best places to live with most opportunity is definitely confusing - I seem to have narrowed it down to BC, NS, Alberta, or Ontario.

But something Google and the various provincial websites cannot tell me is what is it REALLY like to live in those provinces? It looks like there's plenty of jobs, and I've gotten some advice from a friend of mine that lives in BC, but I'd like to hear opinions from nurses currently working in those provinces (lifestyle, cost of living, weather, safety, etc).

Cheers!

Nova Scotia. Weather hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Snowfalls vary each year but usual times Jan to end March. Beaches for most people of usually within a couple of hours or less. Lifestyle is what you make of it and what you want. Usually something to do all the year round. Halifax can be very busy. Just because jobs are advertised means there are actual jobs. Union very big in Canada and jobs advertised to meet union requirements but not necessarily get filled

Toronto, Ontario is a very busy city. RN jobs could be either in community, long term care, or acute care hospitals. I left the big city for a smaller one as finding job is usually easier either casual, parttime, or fulltime positions. Young adults are driven to bigger cities but not me.

Good luck.
