Moved your thread to the Philippine Forum. Check out the second courser programs, there are none that do most of the training in the US, and then only one month in the Philippines.

The other thing to consider, even if you hold a US passport, and are a US citizen: If you train overseas, you will be considered a foreign grad throughout your career, and subject to all of the licensing requirements that they need to go thru.

As an American, you are only exempt from immigration requirements, but for licensure, being American will not change anything. It is based on where you attended school. Same thing goes for a foreigner that attends school in the US, they do not need to meet the foreign training requirements.

And in order to do a second courser program, you must hold a bachelor's degree already.

And in the Philippines, many second coursers are doctors and dentists already that have gone back to school.

Do your homework very well on this topic, there are also quite a few issues with some of the programs over there. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Why would you want a clinical experience in PI when US has the state of the art facilities? I think it is the other way around wherein the last month is spent in the US. Ask your co worker again.

one month clinicals? how many clinical hours is this? one month is not enough....in order for you to get license in the us, wether it's in any state, you need to have enough clinical duty hours. you might want to contact your board of nursing for the licensing requirements. when i was in the philippines, we had to do clinicals 8 hours a day, 3 times a week...in between that, we have lectures and assignments to do. remember, fastest route is not always safe...and it is scary.
