International College of Health Sciences

Updated:   Published

Hi Everyone,

I'm new here and hopefully I'm posting this in the right area. I'm currently an LVN in Ca and looking into a 1 year LVN-RN on-line program based out of Fl. The name of the school is called International College of Health Sciences based out of Boyton Beach, Fl. I was just wondering if anyone here has had some experiences in dealing with this school, currently attending, or could provide any insight into the program. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Yes, me I am on Capstone and yes my friend she is one semester ahead of me. She is now RN here in California. Tip? Be ready you are about to embark in a self taught journey.

Have you don’t clinicals yet or gotten your clinical dates yet?

Sounds like lots self study.  What do you do on capstone?  How’s clinical rotation arrangement during Covid ?  Are the classes easy to pass so far?   By the way, I have called this school many time but no one ever pick up a call.

I called today a few times and was able to connect with Duane. I called in the morning my time which I would imagine they're three hours ahead so maybe early afternoon over there? Duane was very helpful.

So your friend was able to take her boards in California for licensing in Florida and other compact states? Or how did that work?

Oh dang, that doesn't sound good. Are you glad you enrolled in the program?

I keep going back and forth on whether or not it is worth it. I also live in the west coast so would have to travel for clinicals, and the program is already pretty expensive.

Did you test out of the first semester?

Thanks for your help!

You are very lucky to get hold.  I tried different times for so many days. I haven’t had a luck.  Did you decide to enroll the program yet?

I'm sorry! that sounds like such a pain. No I haven't decided if I want to do the program or not yet. I live on the west coast so if/when clinicals are needed in person in Florida it will be a challenge.

I am also weary of doing this program as there seems to be mixed reviews. I would also hate to pay all the money and do all the schooling and not be able to get licensed for one reason or another. I am trying to do more research before deciding anything.

Are you going to enroll?

Hello I am currently in the program don’t want to scare you. It’s self study. You have to put your 100%. Teachers are really nice. If you can handle the stress , burden and able to self study go for it then.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I really appreciate it. How far in the program are you? Can I ask what state you live in?

Are there actual zoom classes with a teacher and due dates, help etc? Or is it all self taught?

Do they send you books with your tuition or is that all online

Thank you,

Whitney

I am going to try CA nursing program first.   I heard the bad reviews too.  Not sure if I like self study.

Totally understandable. Do you know anyone who has gone through this program and been licensed?

I heard someone in this forum said they finished and passed NCLEX.  I think it’s easier for someone already an experienced LVN.

Yeah that is understandable. I have been an LPN for awhile. I am not as worried about the schooling as much as I am about clinicals being in Florida, and potentially not being able to get licensed due to credentials or something.

I personally know at least five students who are already RN here in California. They took the exam here and just endorsed their papers when they pass NCLEX-RN. I am on capstone now. I can’t believe it. I am very thankful for the school. About the learning? It depends upon what kind of learner are you. If you are the the of student that need coaching. Nope this school is not for you but if you can navigate on your own with a little guidance. Yes.
