International College of Health Sciences

Hi Everyone,

I'm new here and hopefully I'm posting this in the right area. I'm currently an LVN in Ca and looking into a 1 year LVN-RN on-line program based out of Fl. The name of the school is called International College of Health Sciences based out of Boyton Beach, Fl. I was just wondering if anyone here has had some experiences in dealing with this school, currently attending, or could provide any insight into the program. Any help would be much appreciated. Hi Yappa, I was under the same impression with the GAP test, it will only allow you to skip out of funds/pharm. I was also told you need a 75% to pass. Even after doing so, it'll be a 12 month program starting straight at Med Surg. 

Based upon Future's response to me, it seems like you can "test" out of other courses but my advisor said this is false. All the other schools I have inquired don't take nursing core classes because of the equivalency. Each program is different.

I’m also wondering if the 900 score is a 75% or what?  This part confuses me and I don’t ever seem to get a direct answer from staff. 

Future, you might want to clarify what was mentioned to you about your “core” classes. That way there isn’t any surprises for you?

I spoke to Dwayne ask for him. He was very detailed with everything. He told me that if you are an LPN you can take the gap test which has a mixture of fundamentals, Pharm, mental health, ob, peds and medsurg on the exam if you pass it you can waive only fundamental and pharm class. However, if you were in an RN program previously which in my case I was and have already took fundamentals, Pharm, mental health, ob, peds and medsurg 1&2 I can take the gap test and if I pass it all I can skip to capstone. This has been confirmed by Dwayne and the academic admission advisors upon viewing my unofficial transcripts.

How was that gap exam? Trying to figure out which study guide to use and I’m running out of time, but still working on Micro which is a beast!

Congratulations on you getting in. I hope to be accepted too for the Feb 8th Cohort.

Hi Yappa,

  I will join the Feb cohort, also I will take the Gap test on January 31 but I need help in preparation for the test(like which book/guide I should use for the test?
