Hi Everyone,
I'm new here and hopefully I'm posting this in the right area. I'm currently an LVN in Ca and looking into a 1 year LVN-RN on-line program based out of Fl. The name of the school is called International College of Health Sciences based out of Boyton Beach, Fl. I was just wondering if anyone here has had some experiences in dealing with this school, currently attending, or could provide any insight into the program. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
Anybody have any idea about when their clinical rotations will be unfrozen? I’m concerned they’re not meeting CA BRN requirements considering this. ACEN accreditation can always be retracted.
Also, are the tests (for core nursing classes) standardized or do they try to trick you by asking about a specific detail that was in one line on a random page of the book?
Thank you.
Hi,
My transcripts were received fairly quickly. I was able to prepay for the “gap” and picked a date for testing in one day.
Per the CA NCSBN this is what I read:
Executive order N-39-20: Allows for programs to use up to 50% simulation for clinical practice, with some stipulations.
I was Informed by ICHS that 1/2 will be done as “required” in the above statement. The other 1/2 on site.
I hope this has helped some.

Thank you very much for your response. What school are you coming from? Are you an LVN or transferring from a difff nursing school? Do you mind private messaging me about your experience with the GAP tests? Which ones are they letting you test out of? There are specific clinical requirements for the peds/ob rotation. From what I understand, the below are the requirements. I know their clinicals are at some SNF/rehab place and they are not accepting students right now. On top of that, the school has not responded about the OB/peds clinical requirements. From what I understand, nobody has done clinical rotations this semester...and that is concerning...for a few reasons.
If the clinical site is within 50 miles of the school’s location:
-Med Surg: 75% in person, 25% sims
-Peds/OB: 50% in person, 50% sims
If the clinical site is not within 50 miles of the school:
-Med Surg: 50% in person, 50% sims
*-OB/Peds: 25% in person, 25% tele-health, 50% sims
How do you verify things with the DCA? Would they have the same requirements as the CA BRN? Just curious...thank you for your feedback. May I ask how the gap tests were? Have you started yet or are you starting in Feb? I’m just curious as to how hard those HESI exit exams are and how generic or specific their core classes are. They offer one pharm class and my other program had heavy pharm for 4 semesters....very distinct differences in the layout of the programs...so it makes me wonder how their tests are.
Hello everyone. I am looking to start in the feb start date. I am transferring from another nursing program. I have all the nursing credits besides NUR2811 Nursing Capstone4, NUR2811C Nursing Capstone Clinical4, NUR2811L Nursing Capstone Lab1 and SPC1017 Fundamentals of Speech. I have been communicating with an advisor and they said I would have to test out of the nursing courses completed. Is anyone familiar with this process and what type of tests that I have to test out of? I was not aware of any test I thought the credits would just transfer normally. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Am starting in Feb if all things goes well. I have submitted all my application and documents.
Am not sure about a test but I know there lots of essays in the application.
when am selected I do need a mentor! I will love to get pointers on how to make the program a success. Ps I am from California
What are the documents that's been submitted my advisor sucks he literally tells me nothing. I feel like the communication with this college is lacking.. I applied for the ADN program and entered all the information. However, there were no essays. Is there another application??? It told me an admission advisor will be in contact with me after filling out the info for the ADN program. I don't know where to go from here I call and no one ever picks up. I am trying to get everything in before the end of December.

Your textbook is a good resource for this. Please read -- it will enhance your learning. I get that you want to know what will be tested on. But you need to learn more than that
