Hi Everyone,
I'm new here and hopefully I'm posting this in the right area. I'm currently an LVN in Ca and looking into a 1 year LVN-RN on-line program based out of Fl. The name of the school is called International College of Health Sciences based out of Boyton Beach, Fl. I was just wondering if anyone here has had some experiences in dealing with this school, currently attending, or could provide any insight into the program. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
Hi, I am not sure If you already enrolled LVN to RN program at International College of Health Sciences based out of Boyton Beach,Fl. My friend and 2 of her friends just graduated RN program from that school. She and a friend studied LVN to RN program and another one transferred her ADN nursing credit (from Rio Hondo college) and continue for RN program there. The one, who transferred her ADN nursing credit, already got CA RN license. My friend and another friend are waiting for NCLEXs schedule in California. All of them need to get license from FL first and then, they apply for license in California.
Hello everyone,
Did anyone transfer nursing school credits (ADN program) to International College of Health Sciences, FL? I don’t get accepted back to the ADN program at a community college in California. I failed Advanced Pharmacology in the third semester. As I know only this ADN program has this class. (It is only one unit and it is about MAR and Emergency drugs. This class isn’t required but it is strongly recommend by my college) I have 54 hours of Pharmacology class as RN Board requires. I have only MedSurg 3 and Nursing Management to pass the ADN program.
I would like to know, did anyone get full credit for their nursing school credits? and did you need to take prerequisites?
I have a friend, who graduated LVN to RN at International College of Health Sciences, FL, but she can’t tell me much about transferring the ADN nursing credits.
??Thank you,
Dhitma

I graduated from ICHS and is a licensed practicing RN in California. ICHS is a private school; it is online but clinicals is done in Florida. Online school is harder than the actual traditional colleges and Universities. More work load is involved. As LVN, you can try and take the competency test for FON. If you pass then you have 15 months to finish the program. Once you successfully pass the Florida NCLEX, you can endorse to California. BON in California accepts ICHS grad. You will not encounter any problems as long as you pass the entire course.
Hi, can anyone help with how thy studied for the midterm and final for pharmacology, med surg 1 and psych . I want to start practicing questions and get ahead thank u in advance
Hello Everyone
Just want to give you an update of my journey to my Registered Nurse dream, through International College of Health Sciences (ICHS). If you read my previous post dated May 13, 2019. I started attending to this school last June 2019 took Anatomy, Physiology and Microbiology with laboratories. I completed all my pre-requisites September 30, 2019. Because I am a working LVN took the gap test, unfortunately they did not show my test-result. I was told to take Pharmacology, Psychiatric in Nursing with clinical and Medical Surgical 1 with clinical. Thanks God I made it pass the theory and clinical. My very first clinical in Florida last December 1- 13, 2019. I spend 10 days clinical x 12hrs a day, and 1 day off. Came back to California. I was scheduled to come back for next clinical sometime on April for Medsurg - 2 and Maternal, Pediatric, but did not happen because of the pandemic. I was lucky, I was offered to take an accelerated program. I am blessed to passed the accelerated program which means I don't have to take Medsurg-2. Which brings me to Nursing capstone VATI. Passed the greenlight and able to take (CFPE) Comprehensive Final Program Exam last July 18, 2020 and PASSED with 94% score 99% probability of passing NCLEX.
I decided to register in Florida board of nursing because I heard it is faster. You can also register your paper in California board of nursing and take the board in California-NCLEX-RN but it may take too long, specially pandemic, some people are working from home. Although I registered as a Florida graduate I took the NCLEX here in California or you can take anywhere you want. I graduated July 18, 2020 received my (ATT) authorization to take the test Sept 6, 2020. I went to Pearson Vue website right away and scheduled my exam but there was no available date on the whole month of Sept. So I picked October 15, 2020. So after receiving my ATT and scheduled my exam those are the times I gave my 100% concentration review.
I studied UWorld, I watch Youtube videos, and lastly I read about Nurseachieve 15days before my exam. Believed me, NurseAchieve gave me 100% confidence in passing the NCLEX. The day of my exam I woke-up @ 7am and jogging around 3 blocks by my house had shower and early lunch and late breakfast. My schedule is 1:00pm so I arrive there just in time 12:30pm. I had to undergo screening then I sat in the cubicle where I had to face my dream. Oh God, I had counted select all that apply questions got 35 all of them, 1 drag and drop, 1 picture, lots of prioritization, delegation, 1 calculations I end up to 75 questions.
I went home and I felt empty. I felt like I did not understand the questions. It is very vague. I could not sleep all night worried about my result. At 0700 am, my eyes still open, I log-in to my MQA account florida board of nursing website. OMG! after signing-in I immediately saw my License Number on the right upper top of my account and RN next to my name and saw "PASS".
After finding my result I screamed out loud my husband was screaming too. I cried out loud so happy all my children came to hug me. I am so proud of myself. I did it. The very next day, I processed the endorsement of my license from Florida to California. Now, I am PROUD REGISTERED NURSE CURRENTLY WORKING AS AN RN here in California. So, if your in doubt you can email me. Good luck to you guys. You can do it too.
Thank you for letting us know about your experience! I’m currently in ICHS medsurg and maternity with all this covid and weather or not endorsement to california easy or not you answered my questions! Feeling a tat better now! Even tho is chaos with clinicals at this time I hope ?? we can catch up and finish!
thank u again
Hi ANADNEC,
May I ask how much did you pay for the nursing program? I left many message at ICHS (phone call and through their web) and I don’t get any response. I failed advanced pharm in the third semester in a community college and would like to transfer my nursing credit to ICHS but I concern about how much money I need to pay (plus I need to pay for plane ticket and hotel room)
Thank you,
Dhitima Cienfuegos
The program was $35k with pre-requisites. When I went there last December the ticket for round trip is $350 hotel we shared with my friends 3 of us, $600 each one of us, and we also rent a car, I think about $500 with insurance. We decided to go to hotel for safety and comfort too although it is expensive.
You can get credits from your previous school. The school will send your credentials directly to school.
ICHS is not the best school. They are not what you expect. But because of my determination to complete the program because it is way cheapier than California nursing school I really work hard for it. Mindset is “ losers complains, winners always find ways and solutions. If you resist your not going to get it. A lot of people that I know did not make it and they were even remove from the program because they cannot accept the reality that they did not pass. This program is most likely self-study. If you can’t do that then this is not for you.

Thank you for this! Currently in classes with them. Curious if you took straighterline classes and had a problem with ca endorsement?

NCLEX can be taken anywhere. It is up to you if you want to take the Florida first. ICHS recommended to take Florida and just endorse it because according to them, it will take longer to apply for Cali NCLEX. Endorsement is faster.
