Hi!
I am a nursing student finishing my BSN in Maryland. I am planning to move to NJ after graduation and apply for jobs there. I want to know which will be most efficient (in terms of time, energy, money): should I apply for Marlyand licensure and then transfer my license to NJ after I already have a MD license or should I just apply for an initial license in NJ? If anyone has any info on how fast the process of initial licensure is vs. licensure by endorsement I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Are you planning to make your permanent home in NJ? I would get my initial license in whatever state that I consider to be my home of record now and in the future, because that will be the license I would maintain for all time, should things ever get tight and I was going to let additional licenses lapse or go inactive. Matter of convenience.

Here's some info on compact states : https://www.ncsbn.org/nlc.htm since it doesn't appear that NJ is a compact state, it would make the most sense to contact their BON & apply for initial licensure there, instead of applying to MD's BON(which is a nightmare, btw), obtaining licensure, and then having to apply for endorsement in NJ..it's gonna be more money in the end..
