USP 800 cleaning

  1. I am the RN coordinator in an Outpatient Infusion and Chemotherapy department at a small CAH hospital. We are working on becoming USP 800 compliant for the entire hospital. Myself and the pharmacist are the leads on writing the policies regarding this. In the USP 800 and 797 it states to deactivate and decontaminate in HD areas, most people use a 2% bleach solution. I know they would need a solution that strong for the BSC, but does anyone know if that is required where HDs are administered? What product do you use in between and after you administer HDs?
