Informations about Toronto

Published

Hi!

I'm a newcomer in Toronto. I'd like to apply as a RN but I prefer having advices before...

-What can you tell me about Mount Sinai, St Michael and Toronto General Hospital ?

-If I apply in Toronto General Hospital, do I have to work in Western and Princess Margaret too ?

-I'm not familiar with the conditions for maternity, how many weeks can I have ? And what about the father ?

(I'm not pregnant, it's just for informations)

-I've been working as a RN for 3 years, do the hospital take my experience in consideration, especially for the salary ?

and last question for my husband...

What's the salary range for Personal Support Worker (He's been working for 6 years) ?

Thanks for replies, I've searched many times but I'm not sure about the answers.

the best way to get an answer for these questions is to go on the hospitals websites and review the HR link and visit each hospital yourself.

u mentioned that u are a newcomer...are u a Registered Nurse in canada? have u taken the CRNE and passed it? if yes, then u can apply to all of the 3 hospitals u've stated. these are reputable hospitals & consider yourself lucky if u will meet their standard and get accepted to work as an RN. they will also count your years of experience and expect that it will reflect on your starting salary.

PSW average salary is $12/hr.

Thanks for your reply. I'm from France but I passed more than one year in Montreal. I've been recognized as RN and I've received my nurse's licence by the CNO. I'm going to apply this week in these hospitals and after...I'll see!!

I work just outside of Toronto and the PSWs I work with make $21/hr and $22 at the LTC facility next door.
