Orlando Tech has a LPN program and Seminole Community College has one. I know SCC requires some pre-reqs, but I don't believe they have waiting lists. Orlando Tech is located downtown and SCC is in Altamonte Springs. Both schools are alot cheaper that Americare and I have heard much better things about these two schools. Good luck!
i am currently in the orlando tech program and i must say it is a very good program. the program is definitely difficult but the passing score for the nclex on the first try is like 96-97%. you get alot of clinical experience (actually more than alot of rn programs in the area) and the price is great. for the whole year with books and unform it is like 4,500. the program is a 12 month program and you are off the same days as orange county schools. let me know if you would like more information. :nuke:
Orlando Tech is a public vocational school. Here's a link to their website:

like bayley said:wink2:... and they only require the tabe and net test to enter the program.
hi,im from california and looking to go out of state for a good lpn program. i am not interested in community colleges etc because of the wait lists and pre-reqs. im a single mom and need to work soon. so ideally a 12-16 month program full time is what i am looking for.
they have private colleges in california that are ridiculously expensive ($25k+). i heard that there is an americare in orlando?
does anyone have info on them, is there a wait list? tuition?
are there any other reputable private orlando area lpn schools, where i can go full time?
thanks!!!
hi sidamom!
yes, americare is in fern park. i started in sep 07 and will graduate is july 08. tuition for me was $16,900 plus $900 for books, but the price is increasing with each class. i believe the next available class is sep 2008, which is going to be a 14 month program instead. the school is pretty easy to get into, but we did lose half of my class in the first semester. they only require a 60 on the net test, an essay, and an interview with the program director or a instructor. even though it is easy to get into (with no waiting list), it is a difficult program. so far this year the school has 100% for nclex testing, 1 out of 16 schools in florida to get. i am sure there are other great schools, but this was the best option for me. i found with the other programs, you needed to have everything done and then apply to the program. with americare you can get accepted, and then worry about everything else. good luck in whatever your choice is!

TECO in Kissimmee has a great LPN program.
You need to have a 12.0 on the TABE test, and 63% on the NET to be accepted.
There isn't a waiting list, and the instructors are great.
About $4,000.00 for tuition, books and fees, broken down into payments by quarter.
Fulltime programs starts in August and Jan. every year, 5 days a week for 11 months.
I graduate in July .
