Finally Got Official Acceptance Notification ISU LN-BSN

Nursing Students Indiana (ISU)

Published

I finally got my official acceptance notification for ISU LPN-BSN Fall 2012. I am sooo very excited.

Congrats! I am also thinking of doing ISU oppose to West Coast University. I just can not fathom being over 100k+ in debt, not to mention the interests! The only good part to WCU is it's quick - but burns your bank account (for years and years to come by paying back student loan). Sooo..that's why I am thinking of ISU.

I wanted to ask what made you decide to go to ISU? I am really just weighing my options. It's well into mid year and deadlines after deadlines....I really need to make a decision quickly.

Thank you, I choose ISU because it is an accredited university which offers the LPN-BSN online. I can set my clinicals around my work schedule. I wanted the flexibility because I do plan to work atleast 36 hours a week. The program for me can be completed in 5-6 semesters.

Oh! they do offer a payment plan with a financial company. This way you are not paying for everything upfront. I will be applying for a scholarship in the second semester.

Specializes in peds.

congrats!

I can well understand your hesitation about West Coast U. The cost for their program is highway robbery. You are in Calif and ISU has a different program for Cali residents. Before you sign up, make sure you understand exactly what ISU will do for you, and it might be good to get it in writing--just in case. There have been previous posts about problems about SoCal students obtaining clinical sites. While other non Cali steudents have one-on-one, preceptor to student. In the Cali ISU program, you are not in a 1 to 1 program. In Cali, ISU has hired an instructor. You could have as many as 12 students to 1 instructor (per the Cali BON ratio requiement) in the clinical, and you must do the clinical days/hours when the instructor is available. This makes it difficult for those who have outside jobs and other responsibilities. Plus, obtaining placements and instructors for the Sonoma State/ISU program has been somewhat difficult in Cali--especially SoCal.

Ladyinscrubs, how much longer do you have to complete the program? I am excited about being accepted into the program, but now cannot wait to finish it.

Specializes in Pediatrics, chemical dependency & MH.

Congratulations, 2brn09!!!

I know you will do well! I'm very happy for you and look forward to hearing your experiences!

Thank you,

2brn09 do you have any words of wisdom on how to study/pass the CSM along with the TEAS V? When I was e-mailing with Carol she sent me a lovely long list of books for all of the CSM. I did buy the one book for the first module (NURS 106 yeah). I'm working on getting my proctor so I can get that paper work sent in so I can pay for the test.

Thanks!! You are a rockstar! I look forward to reading your posts in the future talking about your journey.

I believe if you are already accepted into the university and have an ID # go to blackboard and click onto syllabus for each csm. Thank you, I hope you get into the program then we can both share our journey.

Thank you for your input. I really appreciate it. I do have my student ID number and I was looking on blackboard, but I'm not seeing anything. I'm sure once I pay for the CSM's that they would show up, yeah?
