IUSON/IUPUI Accelerated BSN 2010

U.S.A. Indiana

So has anyone else applied or recently been accepted to iupui's accelerated program? i just applied for summer entrance and was wondering if anyone else is waiting on hearing back as well. does anyone know what recent gpa's for acceptance have been like?? thanks for any info! i'm obviously super nervous about getting in right now! :uhoh3:

The admissions office for the school of nursing told me 3.8 was the GPA for Spring 2010 Admission. (I just applied for Summer 2010 admission as well, and quite nervous myself!) I understand that we're supposed to hear back in march--do you know when in March?

i only know that we should hear back by mid-march. from reading other posts on here though, it seems that they may send acceptance letters early sometimes. how scary! i have just over a 3.8 and i know they don't take as many students in the summer :scrying: hopefully i will get in for summer start, but if not, there is always fall! let me know if you hear anything back if you wouldn't mind  good luck!!

I am waiting to hear about Summer 2010 entry as well. I heard last semester that there were a few people right at 3.8 GPA that didn't get in ... you had to have above a 3.8. This is just hearsay around classes though, so I can't say for sure. They also got their letters around the end of November instead of December like they were told, so I'm hoping we will get ours a bit earlier, too.

With layoffs and so many people going back to school right now, I'm nervous about the sheer numbers of people applying to the program, too.

Eeek! That's so scary!! I am desperately hoping there won't be as many people applying to the accelerated program for summer. Maybe a lot of people will have kids and not begin in summer because school will be out?? Wishful thinking anyway! Good luck to you as well!

Yes it's nice to know there is a place we can talk to each other outside of class. :) Are you taking CPR on April 30th? I already have my certification but wondered how many people would be taking it through the school's offered course. I'm really looking forward to orientation as I still am curious about a few things as well.

I am taking CPR on the 30th, excited as it feels that school is sort of starting. Have you already bought your books? I was waiting until orientation to see if they tell us anything different than what is on Onestart. You indicated that you are an hour outside of Indy, where did you live?

I am getting excited too. I feel like everything is going to go by so fast! I haven't bought any books yet. I usually try half.com or chegg.com (if I don't want to keep them) to see if I can get a better deal than the bookstore. I've been trying to check oncourse, but there's nothing on there yet. I am living in Bloomington and will be commuting for part of the summer and moving closer to campus in towards the end of summer. Should be interesting as I am definitely not a morning person! ;)

Saw the couple posts about books ... don't know if you've found this, but if you access your Student Center through OneStart (where you enrolled in classes), and click to see your "Class Schedule Details," at the top of the list of classes you're registered for, there is a button to "view/order textbooks." That provides a list of what the campus bookstore has been told we need ... be ready for a shock ... there are a lot of them!!

Hope this helps. :)
