hi anyone there who had their first job interview after almost 9 yrs of grad and jist recently passed nclex.what was it like ?and what are questions they asked you during your interview? thanks in advance.IM starting to freak out , i dont want to blow this. I really really really want to start working as RN

Specializes in HH, Peds, Rehab, Clinical.

What type of position are you interviewing for?

its rn position but she didnt tell what area it will be and i dont even know how is going to interview me.

There must be thousands of RN positions. It might help you more if you told us what kind of facility this is, what kind of work or patient type you'll be working with. Otherwise it's making my eyes cross trying to come up with advice for you!

One thing; you're a bit behind even a new grad so you will need some extra classes, clinical experiences, handling equipment, getting vital signs, getting your 'confidence' back up to where it was when you completed school. You'll need to make sure you get opportunities for this or you'll feel very overwhelmed on the job.

Most states require an RN 'refresher' course for those returning to the field after inactivity beyond 3 years (different per state). This is for your own good, not just the patients.

ETA: oh heck! GOOD LUCK! Welcome back, and all that good stuff too :) !!

@gooselady sorry bout bout that lol my bad well its a acute care non profit hospital. I did online refresher course and doing ceu credits, i just recently passed my nclex last sept .I was surprised and happy that they have called me for an interview monday.

Aha! Your OP sounded like you passed the boards and then were floating gently one day and SUDDENLY you had a job interview! I figured there was more to the story. I hope your interview went well today!
