:specs:I am in need of 2 hours in Sociology and 3 hours in humanities to complete my gen ed for EC nursing program. My plan is to complete these 2 exams while I am waiting to do my CPNE...has anyone taken these through EC and could you suggest a course that was not to difficult. I have 2 toddlers and will be going back to work once I finish my last NC exam on Aug 13. Thanks for your help!

You can CLEP both these, ususally through a local CC and save a lot of money. I took sociology this way using the college network book, studied about 3 weeks, paid $80 and took the test. Pretty simple, I wish I would have known about this while taking all my pre-reqs at the CC.
I know after being at EC for all this time I should know this, but how do I do this? Point in the right direction, please!

CLEP is definitely a great option for both of these. I needed 6 hours of Humanities credit and took the Analyzing & Interpreting Literature exam. It seemed pretty hard, but I scored well on it, and believe me, classic literature has never been my strong suit.
Or, you could sit in a class for a semester for the same credit.
I only need 3 credits for humanities and CLEP only offers 6 credit tests for humanities. I just talked w/ an advisor and she told me I can take a DANTES to test out of a 3 credit course. Trying to stay away from lit. so I'll take intro to world religions.
I too just talk to an advisor, that quick I have been approved to take CLEP and she said to let her know if I would rather do DANTES. So I am looking into that now. Sitting in class for a semester is not an option for me, so this is the path I will take!
