hello everone!
i start my nursing program in january and am trying to brush up on my a&p, per my instructors advice (i know some programs have this included in thier program, mine doesnt).
so i was wondering if i should just brush up on the actual anatomy part.. like the systems, muscles, bones etc., or should i do that and review the inorganic/organic compounds, the different types of bonds etc. too? any information would be greatly appreciated!

If you are starting an LPN program at a school and this progam does not offer an A&P course, you need to run from this school. And fast.
The school does not offer it becuase you have to have it prior to enrolling. It is a pre-req not a co-req.
I took a&p i and II three years ago and am not sure if the ACTUAL nursing program focuses more on the body structures or the everything. I knew I needed to clarify my post. Thanks for responding!

I would brush up on systems - just the general stuff. Go over major bones and muscles. Don't kill yourself on the stuff. Maybe pull out your text book if you still have it or some old notes and just review. It can't hurt!
Thanks a bunch! It's a good thing I didn't sell it on eBay.

In my school, the cardiovascular system comes up in everything. Make sure you know all the workings like the back of your hand; it'll help a lot. But in general, I'd focus on the systems more than ionic and covalent bonds, etc. I think in the real world, it'll benefit us more to be really knowledgeable about the systems, how they affect one another, and how this "beautiful machine" of a body works (quoting an instructor). :)

My Med-Surg book has an A&P review for some of the different systems..it's really helpful. But yes, I do agree brush up on Cardiovascular, and Respiratory too. Good luck :)
Thanks a lot everyone! You were very helpful. I've started making flash cards, hopefully it'll jog my memory. I can't believe im 27 and am finding it difficult to remember things already!! I think I probably blocked out A&P ..... >shivers

I'd brush up on systems and all the other generals throughout the book. My instructor told me that we needed to know the 12 cranial nerves (along with the entire chart) as well, that it would really help us going in to our first semester of the program. This a great chart to refresh with: http://i2.squidoocdn.com/resize/squidoo_images/590/draft_lens9367851module101707271photo_1274378515Cranial_Nerves_Chart.jpg
We just got into the cranial nerves today! Good call!
Thanks so much everyone!!!
You're very welcome! Best of luck to you and all of your endeavors!
