If anyone is planning on using the Clep A & I exam to satisfy the Humanities requirement (which people should since it's an easy 6 credits) Be aware that as of 9/1/2016 you will only be granted 3 credits for successful completion of the exam. If your'e planning on using the Clep exam for 3 credits you must pass the exam before 8/31/2016.

Specializes in Med/Surg, LTACH, LTC, Home Health.

Did CLEP change the credits or is EC only allowing partial credit for the A & I exam? This is great to know because I've been recommending this exam since I first heard about it. Easiest 6 credits I've ever earned.

This is only an Excelsior thing. The ACE recommendation is still 6 credits however each institution is free to set their own policies. I had an approval granted awhile ago which I have yet to take advantage of so I received an email from a very friendly advisor advising me of the policy change. This was very thoughtful as I might have waited too long otherwise.

Hi

If I take the CLEP before 8/31/2016 is it going to cover the upper level humanities requirement for the BSN program?

All outside coursework must be approved by an Excelsior advisor prior to. With that being said I really don't see a reason why not. Just be sure to take and PASS on or before 8/31/2016
