I need to have all my immunization records, so I can get in to the CNA program @ my local college. I have most everything already done except my third Hep B shot and proof of my chicken pox vaccination, results are pending for my Tb skin test until this coming Friday. My question is should I just go ahead and get my third Hep B shot done when I do my physical? The tricky part of this is that I can't remember 100% if I actually took the third sot or not. My mom says that I did, but she has been wrong in the past about this, and plus I currently have no records indicating that I did. Another option on the table is getting a Titer test done which I will probably have to do anyway for the Chicken Pox Virus. The nurse at my local health department told me to just get my Titer test and I should be good, but I am wondering how long that will take for results to show up because I have to have everything turned in by April 14th, 2011, or I won't be able to start my classes until this Fall. I guess my main concern here is getting the Hep B #3 shot twice and if it will harm me or not, guess I will find that out when I get my physical though.

Get your titers NOW. I know my program recommended a window of six weeks to get the results back. I believe mine took a couple of weeks to arrive. As for your hep B, check to see if that is optional for your program. It normally isn't a requirement. We had the option of waiving the series. However, it probably will not hurt to get it twice.
