I'm stuck and I don't know what to do

Published

This is my first time on allnurses and I really need some good advice on what to do. I'm enrolled in a Liberal Arts & Science college (as a freshman for the fall) that does not have a nursing program, yet I really want to transfer into one, but the thing is my credits are most likely non transferable.

Here is my schedule for my 1st fall semester (my intended major was biology to become a vetnarian):

Biological science foundations w/lab

Chemical science foundations

Writing studies 1

Cultural Anthropology

Introduction to Philosophy

Statistics

All freshman's are required to take the general studies so I wasn't given an option on what I wanted to take for future nursing school.

So now I'm stuck in a bind and I don't know what to do. I already deposited the $500 for my dorm room and accepted/awarded my finacial aid and scholarships.

Please respond, I'm really stressing out over this.

You need to talk to the people and facilities involved. I'm guessing that no one here will be able to help you since no one here has any idea what options you may have.

I would talk to the facility as well

Kariace, your post said, "Should I just drop out of the college I'm in and wait another year to apply to nursing school that don't require perquisites". Now it says, "I would talk to the facility as well."

I'm confused ...are you posting as two different people?

Please guys any advice will help!!

You need to talk to your current school and any schools you are interested in applying to. They are the only ones that can tell you what you need to do to change majors at this point.

I looked into University of Chicago but they require to many prequites. I'm thinking about taking some classes next summer at a CC that will transfer over.

Specializes in M/S, LTC, Corrections, PDN & drug rehab.

I would talk to your school & then go to colleges that have nursing programs. Talk to the advising department & bring transcripts/catalog description for evaluation to see if those classes would transfer.

Do you live in Illinois? Have you tried looking into a school called Chamberlain College or nursing? They don't require any perquisites.

I'm confused as well because I did not edit my previous post.

Specializes in Pediatric.

Communication is key, contact the school and ask questions until you receive answers.

Thanks guys, will do! And Kariace yes I have heard about Chamberlain but I'm not really interested in a profit school. But thank you for suggesting.
