...you know, an off-topic forum where we talk of our vacations, our one-eyed cousin that wants to move into the basement, virtually toast one another's greatness with one hundred of our closest, invisible internet friends, and post pictures of our cats.
Is it in here and I can't find it?
And to all you nurses not working tonight, I salute you. :)
Personally, I'd like to see AN Central featured a little more prominently, so more people can find it. Sometimes non-nursing topics get posted to the AN main board, there's the beginning of a lively discussion, then the thread gets moved to AN Central -- with no kind of marker or link on AN showing where it was moved to -- and it's the kiss of death to the discussion just as it was getting interesting.I think I was on this site for a good year before I realized these posts were moved to an alternate forum -- I thought the moderators were simply removing them.
Going to have to agree to disagree on that one. Took me almost 3 years to discover it!
I like that there is minimal "I am going to make an account today to post a major life question/homework question/ will I get fired question".
Don't find many posts there that make you roll your eyes or mentally chant "fight! fight! fight!"

It took me a while to pick up on that, too -- until someone stealthily moved a really raucous thread to AN Central in the middle of the night . . . when I clicked on it I felt like saying "Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore." what with all the soothing Zen-like colors there.
So many of the threads start out (more or less) serious and turn into hilarity like "one-stop shop for your Frequently Asked Questions" it sort of makes up for those that are moved to peaceful acres.
And, given your screen-name, you might be interested in the 'true confessions' thread, wherein you will find a plethora of personal fart anecdotes!:yeah:It gives new meaning to the expression, "YOU GO, GIRL!"

Another lost sibling
And, yeah- we tend to not be very constipated over there- verbally or otherwise
But we have a LOT of fun, and there's a definite feeling of it being 'personal' - in a good way.
When someone is 'missing', someone asks.
When someone is hurting, someone offers a hug.
When someone is tinkled off, someone will be supportive...
BUT, woe be it to the post- left frontal lobectomies w/no sense of humor....tis a dismal place for them... Anyone with right frontal lobe damage will fit in like a long lost puzzle piece

Awesome! Thanks for bringing this up and to others for pointing it out. I've been a member for quite a long time but never knew it existed.
