Hello all. I need some words of encouragement.....I took my 1st exam in ob and peds.......... I got a 72...........76 is passing. Im in 3rd semester I graduate in may 2009.........I feel so bad right now...and dont think I'm going to make it in 3rd semester.............I know its just the first test.........but I have always done well on the first exam in the other 2 semesters...I feel this great doom over me...which I have never had before.............Thanks for listerning.:bluecry1:

Hey Sug, don't worry you have made it this far I know you can do it. Second year is more in depth than 1st year, it is different and a little harder, but still doable. Make sure to meet w/ the teacher as always and see where you went wrong...you may just have to adjust your way of studying some...it'll be okay:nurse:

Just hang tough, Sug. Don't let an exam divert you from your goal. Figure out where you went wrong on this one and take corrective action.

You're almost a NURSE, for cryin' out loud! You can do anything.

Thanks all.............YOU ARE ALL RIGHT I CAN DO THIS AND I WILL DO THIS..............I DIDNT COME THIS FAR NOTHING.........:up::up::up::up:.

Hey, I also am in 3. I think we all worry....especially once we have gotten this far. I had an instructor put it into perspective last week. He said,"You are all intelligent or you would not have made it this far". Just refocus. You can do it!!!

If it's any consolation, I only got an 80% on my first peds exam. 73% is passing so as long as I don't do worse on any more exams, I should be okay. It's hard because my school is making peds 7 weeks and then I switch over to psych for 7 weeks, instead of taking them both at the same time over 14 weeks. What did your first exam cover? Mine covered G&D, infectious diseases, mental illness, GI, and cardiac. My next exam (in 2 weeks) covers pain, respiratory, GU, and ENT. And hey, your grade was very close to passing, so just study a little harder and I'm sure you'll do just fine!

we all make mistakes, the main point with them is to learn from them. Although you feel down in the dumps right now speak with your tutor or examiner and just see where you went wrong and maybe look and see what you can do better for next time. Maybe its an exam time management problem which is easily sorted.

You're nearly there so keep going. (play the rocky music loudly to get you back on track!)

It may not help....but OB was my worst theory section....after all, I'm a guy..I don't have a uterus...and no one really explained menstruation and hormones, etc to me.

You get through it however you have to...and the first exam is just a indicator of how badly you want to study next time...every semester the first one is tough. My instructor would read the top 3 scores...by name only...but I never cracked it....the running joke was that I got 88 on every one of her tests....cause I got that on 6 out of 7.

When I was in Med/Surg I received a 72 on my first test and I was very dissaponted in myself. I thought that I was going to fail the next two tests but I spoke with my professors and started to study a little differently, bought the Saunders NCLEX book and then recevied high 80's on the following two tests!!! You can do it!!:yeah:

You only missed 4 points, so just change some strategies and prepare yourself for the next exam. You did not bombed the exam. Just refocus and you should be ok. Also, see if you can buy peds made incredibly easy. I think you have to remain positive, dont say to yourself that you not going to pass. Change your attitude, and say to yourself "I will pass no matter what". I know you can do, you came too far to giving up. Stay strong and pray before the next test and God will help you. Good luck to you and I will be praying for you as well.
