Carle Nurse Residency Licensure Requirements

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hi everyone,

I live and go to school in Missouri but am most likely moving to Illinois after graduation (my fiance has been accepted to grad school at U of I- Urbana-Champaign). I was researching hospitals in the area and found that Carle has a nurse residency program for new grads. Does anyone know if I can apply to that even though I am taking my NCLEX in Missouri? I know that I would have to get my Illinois license to practice but my question is if I can apply right now since the application is open for graduate nurses (without licensure). I appreciate any comments!!!

You can take your NCLEX anywhere in the US but if you are moving to Illinois then you need to apply for an Illinois license (as you mentioned in your post). Illinois is NOT a compact state. Carle is an awesome place to work BTW!!! Good luck :woot:

P.S. You will need your pass letter before you can start work there though...but you should apply at least mid way during your last semester as they do get a ton of graduate applicants from all of the areas schools each Dec and May as well as the times in between...

Hello,

I realize this post is over a year old, but I am new to the Champaign-Urbana area. I am interested to hear from anyone who works at Carle and/or has done the nurse residency program. Thank you in advance!
