So, Illinois just passed the FPA law and here is the info and application:

DFPR posted the application for Full Practice Authority this morning.

You can access the application on the IDFPR website under the Nursing Section www.idfpr.com/profs/Nursing or here is a direct link to the packet.

DOWNLOAD APPLICATION PACKET

We urge every APRN who qualifies for this type of license to apply regardless of the culture or practices of their institution.

CONGRATULATIONS to everyone within ISAPN who has been involved in this multi-year project. It has been a long and tedious process but now we can reap the rewards.

Two questions/comments:

a. How was this accomplished? Why wasn't it killed in committee after passing floor votes as it was here in Florida?

b. Would there by some way for NP organizations to "pool funds" for one state at a time in order to magnify their efforts to get this sort of legislation passed?  The money would be used for lobbying efforts and public education and to build alliances with insurance companies, hospitals, HMO's and other institutions that might be interested in expanding access and containing costs.

Agree with this way of thinking. California needs to take notes!
