I am currently an RN in the state of Illinois. I applied for reciprocity in CA. I failed
to satisfy the requirement and was told by the International Analyst of CA BON that
I need to get units to complete the coursework in MED-SURGICAL Nursing since my
MED-SURGICAL Nx theory was not "concurrent" with my RLE based on their assessment
of my transcript. I am foreign educated and need to complete this requirement
for 3 years.
I made an inquiry and to my frustration, specially in CA BON schools; accredited Schools
of Nursing I noticed that they don't offer a single course load but encourages me to enroll
the whole nursing program instead. This to me is too much to think specially now that I am
a practicing nurse in the state of Illinois.
Appreciate to comments!

Since you are working in Illinois, I would contact schools of nursing there to see if you can enroll in a medical surgical or Adult Nursing class.
ANA-Illinois - Nurses Association may be able to tell you schools that assist Internationally Educated Nurses (IEN) complete this requirement since there is a large group of IEN in that area.
