Hello. I graduated from BSN program in United States and had US RN license (expired in 2018). I have not practiced in nursing for over 3 years. I moved to Windsor Canada in 2019. A few weeks ago I received letter from CNO said that I need to complete 21 theory elements and 400 clinical hours in order to get RN license in Canada. After searching for a long time online, I found George Brown College that offers online IEN program that will probably cover all the theory elements that I need. However, I have seen that CNO recommend RN applicant to take program offered by university at bachelor level. Does anyone have taken refresher or IEN program from George Brown College? Does CNO recognize courses from there for RN applicant? I don't want to waste my time and money to take so many courses. Please help!! Thank you in advance!!

Hey there. May be contact the GB School of Nursing and see if they could provide all the credits needed. Usually, those IEN/ Diploma RNs wanting to complete certain hours/ upgrade into their BSN needed to take a 1 year of bridging program first before doing the remaining 2 years of Undergraduate BScN. May be the 1 year bridging program at GB covers your required hours.
