First, I want to say how much I like the editing abilities found on the new site. To be able to upload an image, trash it, and upload an improved image, is nirvana. With the old site, I had to ask sirI, bless her patient & understanding heart, to do the work for me. Now I am free to manipulate my media to my neurotic heart's content!

Next I want to say that the current allnurses cartoonist who signs their works "Kong" is great and I like and am entertained by the cartoons. I've not done any intensive studies on Kong, but have noticed similar works on other sites.

Kong tends to do humorous generic characters which is fine. However, it would be neat to have allnurses members in the cartoons. A cartoon or comic enhances a story by adding a visual image to which the reader can better relate. To be able to see oneself in a comic living out a personal occurrence on the two-dimensional plane is quite a charge!

I spend a quite a bit of time in the second dimension and I can tell you it's a nice place to visit and call my second home.

Many allnurses' members have inspired comics and cartoons and I tend to draw their character based on my knowledge of them or use their avatar. If I know nothing about how they look, I merely go with the flow allow the shapes and colors to define my thoughts about them.

Here's an example from a thread NJEN submitted, and TriciaJ and ruby jane participated, regarding a patient faking illnesses:

(BTW:That's my Mom's cartoon character as the patient.)

In a another thread, Grumpy RN's avatar was used to model his character. I don't know if Grumpy's avatar is an actual likeness of the member or he just used a photo of some nice looking older fella.

I don't know if any allnurses members would be interested, but I thought I'd run it up the flagpole and see if anyone saluted.

Finally, it seems it would be more fitting to have a nurse-artist draw cartoons for a nursing website.

Okay. I'm finished for now and I won't let the screen door hit me in the behind.

(Even though I'm kind of in to that sort of thing.)

I like your idea.

It's to the point now that half the threads I read I imagine what a funny thing you could do with them.

I enjoy your comics/visuals also, very funny! Maybe it should be you huh, aren't you a nurse artist (meant very sincerely!)

If allnurses doesn't want to pay you we could always start a GoFundMe.

I think Grumpy's pic is an actor but don't quote me on that.

OK, I am finished now too, I will also look out for that screen door on my way out.
