ICU Requirement and CRNA Programs

Welp, let me start with the background that I have: 1.5 Years Level 2 ED (Including charge), 1 year at U of M Emergency (Including Motts Children's),

and 4 years of general ICU, including open heart recovery team.

I am starting this fall into my BSN program, with plans on applying to CRNA schools. The issue is that the local hospital where I am working, specifically the general ICU. Due to ongoing ideas and policy changes (sometimes daily), the ICU is slowly falling apart. I have a job offer at a much larger, teaching hospital, with ties to Oakwood. The only problem is that it's in the cath lab.

How recent does my ICU time have when I start the application process for CRNA. Would it be a poor choice to make this transition to a better facility / unit (stability wise)?

My experience with this question is that its totally dependant on the school.

Call the schools your interested in and see what they say. Some want it to be right up until you enter CRNA school. Others just want you to have one year somewhere and still others will only take ICU experience which involves invasive hemodynamic monitoring which is often found in a CVICU. The cath lab wouldnt count so be careful.
