I want my RN-BSN! But graduated from a non-accredited school?

Published

I need my fellow nurses help! I have been searching HARD and LONG to find ANY University or School that takes a non-accredited ADN. I want my BSN really badly. I am looking for it to be online, cost doesn't matter to me.

Any help?

Unaccredited credits rarely, if ever, transfer.

non-accredited by whom?

I went to a community college that was accredited by the state, national Comm Coll. assoc, whatever but it was not ACCN (at the time, they were trying to get NLN accredited, but I think that organization has changed its name or merged with another) or nursing accredited.

This is where a lot of the confusion comes in.

I was able to take the NCLEX, get a job at a prestigious, magnet, teaching facility and then accepted into a state RN-BSN program. I had zero issues with getting any classes transferred. I also have a BS in another field from another state university and they took a lot of those classes. For my ADN and my BSN, I really only had to take the minimum required nursing course to complete each degree. Now I am in an MSN program and I am, again, taking the minimum. With also a previous masters, I will not have to take any electives for MSN or DNP should I go on.

What kind of school did you go to for your ADN?

Specializes in Nursing Professional Development.

Have you asked the school where you got your ADN? They might now which colleges have accepted other graduates of their program.
