At the nursing home where I work the other nurses just say, I can't wait until you become a NP, then, you can write us prescriptions!

I hope they were only joking about you writing them perscriptions, my sister-in law thinks the same thing. Sorry unless you are my patient, I refuse and treating family members can get sticky.

I doubt they are joking, that is where the hard part will come in-getting them to understand that just because I have access to a MD's prescription pad doesn't mean it's party time.

i guess the best way to handle this would be to say you know, your pcm really knows your medical history, i just am not comfortable treating you. i bet siri one of the administrators would really be able to give us a better perspective on this, she is also a legal nurse consultant.siri are you out there give us some adivce and i think this should be moved to a different thread as jo dirt and i got off topic a bit and i would like to see how others handle this situation......thanks np2b, :coollook:
