Hi Everyone!
I took the NCLEX yesterday (Saturday) and I know for a fact that I didn't pass but boy am I praying that I did. I used up all 6 hours and got 235 questions with 36 SATA. I was in hell. I did study but I also suffer from severe testing anxiety and I knew that was going to happen. I just need some words of encouragement. I should find out tomorrow but I can't believe I'm going to have to tell all my family and close friends that I failed.

What do you mean "words of encouragement"? Like "don't worry everything will be ok"? Well it won't if you do the same thing again. If you failed then you need to make changes to whatever you are doing. If you think you were "in hell" then you need to ease back on the drama stick. Hell is combat in Afghanistan...not an air conditioned testing room. It doesn't matter how anxious you get when you test. You will have anxiety when you have patients coding..are you going to fail at that as well? Get it together dude.

If you do have to take it again, or for any future anxiety, you can do this thing called "grounding"
When you feel the nerves getting to you, focus on your senses. Something you can see, something you can touch, something you can smell, etc
You're shifting your focus. Then take a deep breath and re-read the question. Do this every time you feel the anxiety building.
Study hard.. No cramming. And do not study the day of the test. Get all your studying in way ahead of time, before that.
The night before the test do relaxation techniques.. Start from your head, clenche muscles, then release.. Do that head to toe.
Lavender works wonders too.
Hope this helps!! Good luck!
Thanks for your "Oh so kind words of encouragement". What I meant is has anyone been in this situation before? Hence my title subject. I can handle stress and anxiety in any other situation. I am a mother of two and great at it. My life/house/marriage is all in order. I can handle multi=tasking like no other and I would definitely be able to handle someone going into code. Do you not read? I said I suffer from severe TESTING anxiety not just anxiety.

Hang in there. I've always heard the worst you feel you did on your exam then most likely you passed. If you walked out of there knowing for a fact you failed and you did absolutely horrible with tears streaming down your face then you passed. Yeah that was me. Balling the whole way home and thinking what a massive failure I was. Turned on the computer, I think two days later and say what???? I passed. I like LupieNurse's suggestions though for test anxiety. Let us know how you did!!

It is still possible to pass after having answered many questions and running out of time. You will simply need to exercise some patience and wait for your result. Good luck to you.
Let us know how you did when you find out OP and if you need to take it again, please don't beat yourself up. My anxiety was so bad I called my dad from work to come home before my exam and he ended up driving me while I listened to calming music
I PASSED!!! I'm on cloud nine. Thanks everyone for your kind words.
yay!!!! Congrats!!!! celebrate and take a deep breath now!!!!

Maybe you can look up the definition of this word and compare it to bawling.
