So I emailed EC a month ago and asked them if they had awarded all of the military spouse scholarships yet and if not how do i apply...well I already sent in my fasfa, and i've heard other people getting regular scholarships, but i hadn't heard of anyone getting the military ones...anyway, i got this reply back today:

Hello Tasha -

Could you please fax me a copy of your Military Spouse ID card so that we may verify your eligibility and then I will be able to award you a scholarship. Please keep an eye on your email address you indicated on your FAFSA for the Award Letter. Please reply back to this message when you have sent in your Military ID Card. Thank you.

So holy crap i THINK i just got a scholarship...i wonder how much it will be good for? I hope i can apply the entire amount to the CPNE! =):yeah:

Congratulations!

However...I would be wary of sending anyone a copy of my military ID, as it has my DOB and both my and my spouse's SSNs on it. IMO, I'd double-check to make sure that the e-mail from them is 100% legit, even calling them if necessary, before faxing/mailing them anything to do with my military ID. It couldn't hurt to be safe.

Oh it came through MyEC...yes i know i would NEVER send a copy to someone without being fully aware of where it was and who itwas going to...lol

That is WONDERFUL news Tasha! It would be great to put toward CPNE (how much do you figure that costs total? Like around $2500 minus travel expenses?) I can only imagine the incentive that would be :D You GO girl!!

That's great, congrats!

That's so cool! Congratulations!

Congrats. It"s an early Christmas present.:lol2:

Thanks all I'm BEYOND thrilled about it...and YES it will ALL be going towards the CPNE costs at this point! The less money I would have to come up for for the CPNE the better as I really do not want to start using my husbands GI bill until a year after i get my ASN so that I can apply to and do the Frontier Nurse practitioner program since they offer an ASN to MSN NP option! =)
