I'm not sure what to expect. I'm nervous and excited... but mostly nervous. What exactly happens during clinicals or could you please tell me your experiences during clinicals?
P.S.- I just lost my purse today with my drivers license in it (and my phone and my money, etc) so that makes me even more nervous because you need two forms of identification to take the state test. I did make a copy of them, but I wonder if that is enough... I hope I can find my purse before the state test or at least be able to take the state test when I obtain a new license.
Have any of you lost anything important right before the 'big test'?

You need to get a duplicate ASAP of your drivers license and Social Security card (if you have one) or other identificatioin...they won't accept a copy.
Thank you!! But I found it and I'm so happy because of that! *phew*

I start clinicals on Thursday and get a tour of the LTC facility tomorrow. I'm very excited! I don't really know what to expect, but I'm really looking forward to it!
Good luck to us!
Btw, what kind of facility will you be doing your clinicals in?
Update:
The tour was crazy... The LTC facility was cramped and HOT. The residents, however, were great. They were very interested in us. :)
I was assigned a resident that I need to feed and bed bath today. I think that's kind of soon... Although we have practiced on a maniquin... Hopefully I'll have a CNA to watch me. Just in case I'm on my own, I'm studying those two skills and prepping myself! Eek!

I just got done with clinicals for my CNA program and had a blast! I really loved the job much more than I had imagined I would. I took my final test for the class and will State test the 28th.
I really enjoyed every single resident I had the priviledge of working with. We did 3 shifts in a skilled unit and 3 in a residential unit. Have fun!
Thank you everyone :)
And hope we all do well in clinicals! I'm currently finished with my entire first week of clinicals. At first, I was a bit nervous, but it quickly turned to excitement when we hit the floor and started getting our hands dirty. I never even got a tour of our facility before starting my clinicals, but I didn't mind. I'm doing my clinicals at a fairly small, one floor LTC nursing home. I absolutely adore all my patients! :loveya: I can't wait to hear their crazy stories next week. Good luck everyone! I don't take my actual state exam until the end of July.
