hi,
it takes anywhere from 12 to 18 months to become an lpn or lvn as licensed practical nurse. then you sit for licesure and pass.
rn's can become associates degee nurses which take two years of intense study and then after board exams you use the title registered nurse.
the 4 year degree rn bsn bachelors program prepares the nurse for management and educational skills in addition to the rn classes. hope this helps. good luck .

There is a great deal of writing (and I am only in pre-reqs), but math and sci is where it is at. I am not so great with writing myself but college writing isn't any harder then hs, just put in effort and the teachers will give you A's. Just like any other BS degree it will take 4-5 years, that is if you get good enough grades to get into nursing school the first time around. Get those A's, and only A's.
