I had my drug calc test last friday. I took a course two years ago to prepare and have been studying like crazy. I was even a teaching my class on how to succeed on the exam. To my surprise I did not get an A, I actually passed by the skin of my teeth.... we needed an 80 to pass and I got just that. The people I tutored all got 95's ! luckily this test does not go towards our GPA... its just pass or fail, and if you fail you fail the class. I know what I did wrong... I rushed through the exam, and did not double check my answer due to over confidence. However, at least I passed ! We have another drug calc exam when we start the next class, that will be made up of gtt/ min type problems. Thanks for reading and happy studying ! you can do it ! I'm usually terrible in any type of math... so just study hard and know your conversions like the back of your hand !

:ancong!: =)

Congratulations ... I too once became over confident and missed a couple of med questions due to little mistakes. Ever since that test, when time permits I double check my calculations. Sometimes I'm the last one done with an exam but I found it's worth it.

Good luck to you !!

Dosage Calculation Tests are the worst.

CONGRATS ON PASSING!

We have to take one every semester. 20 questions each. For the first three semesters we must make at least a 90% to pass it, and then the last two semesters we must make 100%. We get 4 chances and then we are dismissed from the program.

....I can't stand those tests.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! At my school we have to make 90% or better or you are out, and we only get two attempts. That is until the last semester, we must get 100%! Fortunately I have made 100% on my first attempt on all of them so far, with one more semester to go!

Congrats!!! I had to take one with EVERY nursing class and get 100%. We had three chances to do it and if not then we had to take the class over. And we could only drop a class twice or be out of the program. Boy I developed some new gray hairs because of those math test.

You are lucky that you can drop classes! If we get less than a 75% in a class, we are dismissed from the program. And then we can re-apply with everyone else, for the next August starting class.

i got MAth for Meds from Anna M Curren and it is really good! so far i still have the conversions and things on my mind...

i could skim through 3/4 of the book within 1 hour doing the "test yourself" questions... now that i am checking the rest of it and i dont think it is that bad! but then again... i come from a country that uses cm dm m ...

Oh well not really. We could only drop them twice and after that we had to either reapply or go to another school. And we had to get a 78% to pass our classes.
