Wow! So I passed the exam yesterday. I would like to thank the American Red Cross - they have an awesome class that totally prepared me. I was given Mouth Care - Brush Teeth, ROM-UE and Weight. And I still froze! One of the most nervewracking experiences ever. The examiner was decent. I have heard so many horror stories, and I am glad it's over and can move on! Looking forward to a new career! Yippeee! It has been 2 months since the class ended - the practicing 10 MILLION times before the test really helped. Going into private home care to begin with...at least it will give me experience - and a JOB! Unemployed since 1 year ago...this is a new beginning. Any advice from anyone....will love to hear it! I have a previous thread regarding home health care and got some wonderful words from a wise, experienced, Caliotter3...

Congrats on passing your CNA exam. I hope that it is everything that you hoped it would be.
Thank you! I am excited.....
do you know where you are going to work?
I think with a health and homemaker service to begin with. I have orientation with them this week. It will give me some experience with hands-on. and a quick job.
I would like to get into an assisted living facility - or a rehab center. There are a few around my area (Palm Harbor, Oldsmar) - or, as everyone else, Morton Plant. If you have any advice...PLEASE tell! .....

Congrats!!
Is the skills portion of the test done at the same time as the written or is it two seperate test times?
Skills portion and written are on the same day - just 2 different times.
:-)
Thank you,
I am thinking about challenging the CNA exam but could not find any info about how it was scheduled.

Oh wow. This is a really late reply, but I challenged the test and got my test date scheduled through prometric.com. All of the information for cna testing is listed on that site. I passed by the way and start my new job next week at a rehab facility in Brandon area.
