Prior to taking my AANP-FNP exam I looked on this website for tips, so I just wanted to take the time to return the favor. I just passed boards on October 24th on my first attempt. I spent a total of 3 weeks studying for the exam. I did take the Leik review course and I will say that SHE IS ALL YOU NEED!!!! Her review course and book she sends you will cover everything you may encounter on the exam. After I finished her course I went back over the book she sends and made sure I understood everything that was in it. I spent maybe 2 hours each day studying. I also did practice questions on the APEA website which were helpful, but after taking the exam I know I could have passed without them. The exam was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I anticipated it being way worse than it was, which was probably a good thing because it pushed me to study harder. My advice for anyone getting ready for the exam- Take the Leik review course, re-read the book she sends and do all the practice questions she has in the book. When you go in to take your exam do not second guess yourself and do not over think the questions! I finished the exam in an hour and ten minutes and even though I flagged only 5 questions I did not go back over any of them because I did not want to start reading into anything and second guessing myself. I will say that I also spent a lot of time in prayer and I give all the glory to God for me doing so well on this exam.
You have made it this far, you can pass this exam!

Congratulations! I recert in the Spring (long story re: clinical hours), and am using APEA, and utilized their onsite review as well. I haven't heard of Leik, but will explore. I'm already reviewing every opportunity I have, and will do focus studying for at least the last month or two before I take the exam....and prayer.
Again, congratulations!

Thank you for sharing this. I also replied in your other post asking about your experience at the Creighton University and how often you had to make on-campus visits. Thank you.
